Middlesex School Athletics

Played football for three years and scored 102 points out of 203 total in a 7-0 season when Middlesex was not scored upon. Played First Team baseball for five years and was captain in 1932. At the University of Chicago, played Varsity football and was elected All American in baseball. As coach of high school football and baseball and football official at the University of Tennessee he received the Distinguished American Award from the National Football Foundation and the Football Hall of Fame.
