On Thursday, May 3 Tory Arnold ‘08 was selected to the 2012 First Team All-Liberty League team for her outstanding play on the Union College women’s lacrosse squad.
As a freshman, Tory had an immediate impact on the success of the program, starting in 18 out of the 19 games played. She was second on the team for caused turnovers with 22 and was able to pick up 36 ground balls which ranked her third among her teammates. For her efforts, she was named to the 2009 All ECAC Team.
Over the next three years, Tory continued to be a dominate force on the field for the Dutchwomen, amassing 96 ground ball and 48 turnovers. As a sophomore she was named to the Liberty League Honorable mention team and was again recognized by the league as a junior by being named to the second team. Perhaps her greatest athletic accomplishment came in her senior year as she was voted co-captain for the 2012 season.
Union enters their post season at 7-7 and will face RPI on Friday, May 4 in Troy, NY for the semi finals of the 2012 Liberty League Championship tournament.
