Tournament Game Rules
*With the following exceptions, NCAA Rules will apply.
Games will consist of three fifteen (15) minute periods. Ice will be made after each period. Overtime, except for the final Championship Game, will consist of one 10 minute “sudden death” period. If the game remains tied, there will be a three-man shoot-out. If a tie still exists, there will be a fourth shooter, fifth shooter etc. until a winner is determined.
If the Championship Game is tied, there will immediately be one 10 minute “sudden death” period. If it remains tied, the ice will be resurfaced and a 15 minute “sudden death” period will be played. If necessary, the shoot-out procedure outlined above would then be used.
Additionally, for the purposes of reporting scores to the NEPSIHA tournament selection committee, all game scores should be reported as a win or loss with the exception of games determined by a shootout. Games determined by a shootout shall be reported to NEPSIHA as a tie for both teams.
